Warped Isla del Cocodrilo comes to life at Tabacalera La iSLA in the Dominican Republic, built around an Ecuadorian Habano Deflorada wrapper chosen for its depth and character. A Brazilian Arapiraca and Ecuadorian Habano 2000 dual binder supports Nicaraguan fillers, all tied to the cigar’s nod to the crocodile shaped island of Cuba. The profile brings out dried fruit, cream, leather, cedar, oak and spice. Kyle Gellis’ focus on distinctive tobaccos gives this cigar an easy, medium bodied rhythm with plenty of flavor movement. The deflorada wrapper, dual binders and Dominican craftsmanship work together to create a layered, approachable smoke that still offers enough nuance to keep things interesting.
