By 1996, he had left his law career behind and launched Indian Tabac (later renamed Rocky Patel Premium Cigars). The brand grew rapidly, fueled by Rocky's tireless personal promotion and a knack for creating crowd-pleasing blends.
Today, Rocky Patel operates a massive factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and sources tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua, and other Central American origins. The Vintage series (1990, 1992, 1999, 2003, 2006) is the brand's backbone — each vintage uses tobaccos from the named harvest year, delivering aged complexity at accessible prices. The Decade commemorated the brand's 10th anniversary and remains a best-seller.
